I CARE AND I RECYCLE

 On March 30th,  we successfully held our students  2nd online meeting ! The highlight of our gathering was our collaborative Storyjumper book , where we all contributed stories and information about recycling in our respective countries. Our Collaborative Process: Reading & Learning: Before the meeting, each class read the entire book. Our students were thrilled to discover the recycling habits and environmental actions of their peers across Europe. Peer-to-Peer Questions: To ensure deep engagement, every partner school was assigned to read another school's section and create 2 comprehension questions . The Kahoot Quiz: All these student-led questions were transformed into an exciting Kahoot game . During the live meeting, students from all partner schools competed, laughed, and proved how much they learned from each other!   Students took the lead and kicked off our collaborative acrostic poem on Zumpad ! We started by brainstorming ideas as a class and writing them on the board for the first three letters ( I - C - A ) of our project title: "I CARE AND I RECYCLE" . The children shared wonderful phrases about environmental protection and recycling. After a short discussion, they voted for their favorite ones and successfully entered them into our shared document. We have officially started the flow! Now, we are passing the "digital pen" to the next partner. We can’t wait to see how the poem continues and rhymes!

 Doña Mencía de Velasco School (Briviesca) - World water day collaborative poster. Last day we painted our part of the collaborative poster to celebrate World Water Day on March 22nd. We loved all the other posters as well! Very creative activity! 

 As part of the eTwinning project "I care and I recycle" , our students took part in an engaging ice-breaking activity. After carefully reading the profiles of their peers from partner schools across Europe, they identified students who share similar hobbies and interests. They then reached out by leaving friendly comments, sparking their first international conversations. Benefits for the students: Cultural Awareness: Students realize that they share common ground with peers from different countries, fostering a sense of unity. Language Practice: It provides a meaningful, real-world context for practicing English beyond the classroom. Digital Citizenship: Students learn how to interact in online environments with respect, following the rules of "netiquette." Motivation & Engagement: Interacting with a real audience makes the project more exciting and boosts students' confidence in their communication skills.

 Doña Mencía de Velasco School (Briviesca) - Creating our comic about Greeny. To creat our story we first took some photos about how we recycle and help the environment in our school and then we created the comic. It was a very fun activity that all children loved!  

Doña Mencía de Velasco School (Briviesca) - Second teachers' meeting. On Sunday 15th of March we held our second teachers' meeting in which we discussed how we have been doing so far. We also talked about March activity and the following activities we are going to do, as well as the next students' meeting which will be on Monday 23rd. So interesting! Thank you all for your effort.

  Today, March 15, 2026 , the partners of the "I care and I recycle" project successfully held their 2nd online meeting. It was a productive session where we reviewed the project's milestones achieved to date and evaluated our overall progress. The highlight of the meeting was our collaborative planning for the upcoming month. Through an inspiring exchange of ideas, the partnership co-decided on the specific activities for April , ensuring that our mission to promote sustainability remains dynamic and impactful. Stay tuned for what’s coming next!

  As soon as I announced our new mission to the students, they were too excited. They started thinking of clever ways to show Greeny, how we protect the environment here in our school. Every page of our comic will be an ecology lesson that we’ll share with our friends from partner schools across Europe. The mission for a cleaner planet has just launched!

  March is here, and at our school, recycling is taking on an "out-of-this-world" interest! This month, as part of our collaborative activity, we are welcoming a very special visitor: Greeny , our space-exploring hero. In collaboration with our partner schools, we are creating a collaborative digital story-comic on the StoryJumper platform. Greeny is traveling from country to country, visiting each school to learn our "green secrets." Each school will contribute its own pages to the story, using images, drawings, and text to show how we recycle in our local area. Which materials do we put in the bins? How do we give new life to old objects? How do we protect our environment? Greeny will record all these best practices in the "Golden Book of Recycling" and take them back to save his own planet! Stay tuned to see our digital book come to life and discover Greeny’s adventures in our schoolyard!

This day the whole class visited the twinspace together to have a look at the pages and saw the introductions of the other schools to start preparing our own presentation of our school. We are so ready to start this project! Then, we completed de answer garden activity.

 Doña Mencía de Velasco School - First teachers' meeting. On Sunday 15th of Febraury we got to hold our first meeting to get to know each of us. We had some technical difficulties but finally we got to discuss about upcoming activities and different questions we had about the project. Very interesting.

 Doña Mencía de Velasco School - Creating the logo In this session we decided all together the logo. Each student gave an idea about the characteristics or details that they wanted to be included in the logo and using IA we created the final logo with all our ideas. This helped us discuss our points of view respectfully.

 We enjoy a lot  the students meeting. They could introduce themselves and know about other participants. Looking forward for the next session!!!

  Our project, "I Care and I Recycle," officially has its new logo! Among many wonderful submissions from all participating schools, the design by the students of the 8th Primary School of Kallithea won the final vote. We are so proud of our students' creativity and contribution to this environmental initiative!
